Friends of Faith NoCo Creates Christmas Magic

On Saturday afternoon, families were warmly welcomed by Bob Johnson at the Church of All Nations in Greeley, Colorado, as they arrived for a very special event. Children, eager with excitement, followed their parents into the building, greeted by Johnson’s kind words: “Go right in. Thank you for coming.”

Inside, the church was transformed into a scene of Christmas magic and joy, bustling with laughter and holiday cheer. The inaugural Friends of Faith NoCo/All Nations Church Youth Christmas Party delivered gifts for children and teens, delicious food, festive music, and even a visit from Santa Claus. While such an event typically takes months to plan, the team at Friends of Faith NoCo managed to bring it all together in just three weeks.

“We’re as green as grass, brother,” said Johnson, a board member of Friends of Faith NoCo.

The nonprofit, which recently achieved its 501(c)(3) status, has been actively serving the community for three years by providing meals to over 200 homeless individuals weekly. Recognizing the need to support less fortunate families during the holidays, the team created this event to bring joy and relief to their neighbors in need.

Generosity from local businesses played a critical role in the event’s success. Contributors such as Alberto’s Express, Haute Headz Salon, and Yummy Taco Taquiza donated toys, food, and helped spread the word. With their support, the nonprofit collected and distributed over 300 toys.

Looking ahead, Johnson and the Friends of Faith NoCo team are already committed to hosting the Youth Christmas Party again next year, with plans to expand the event and start organizing well in advance. Reflecting on Saturday’s success, Johnson shared, “One of the scriptures I like to quote is, ‘Do not despise small beginnings.’ This is a small beginning, but it’ll just get bigger.”

In addition to organizing events like the Christmas Party, Friends of Faith NoCo continues to provide essential support to those in need, including distributing over 280 tents and blankets to the homeless.
